2021 Theme:

Still Kingdom Building

Greetings John Wesley Faith Community,

To the faithful people of John Wesley United Methodist Church who have been true to our procedures during covid and are now ready to move into a new stage of our Worship life.
Grace and peace to you from God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who with the Holy Spirit reaches out to us every day with blessings untold and the promises of fulfilling an abundant life.

“As the deer cries out in thirst for springs of water,
so does my soul cry out in thirst for You, O God.” Psalm 42

This Psalm speaks of those times when we need more than a cold drink from God.  We need God to step in and save us!
In the difficult situation, the Psalmist realizes that just getting through this dark valley is not enough.  What we need is to see the light of God shinning in these shadows and to follow that light right to its source and find ourselves in the very presence of God.  Our God is there not just to get us through but to get us to the dwelling place of God, and there to be turned from a desperate seeker after the Lord to one who knows that the goodness and truth of God are always with us, will never forsake us, and make rescue and deliverance an experience that we can always count on.
Drink deep of the springs of water, o my soul, for it is our salvation.
Sisters and Brothers, I am going to renew and rest my body, soul, and spirit in these next three months and seek to saturate my whole being deeper in sync with God as I rest in the presence of God for this time away of Sabbath Leave/Renewal. This Sunday is my last day with you until I return on October 1. Please hold me and my family in prayer while I am away.  I also ask you to pray for The Rev. DeVance’s as lead you in my absence. And pray for one another to remain faithful, committed, and engaged in building God’s Kingdom. May God’s blessings be upon us, and with us as we journey into this Sabbath Leave/Renewal together.
Please continue to be safe!
I Love You.  I Look Forward to seeing you on Saturday and Sunday.

See You on Sunday,
Pastor Carter-Rimbach

Bible Study:

In the Gospel of John, Jesus makes seven statements beginning with the words I AM. Each of these “I am” proclamations further our understanding of Jesus’ ministry in the world. They also link Jesus to the Old Testament revelation of God. “More Than Enough” is a Bible study that looks at six of the “I AM” statements that Jesus made in the Gospel of John. God had revealed Godself to Moses with the decisive statement, “I AM” (Exodus 3:14). Then, centuries later, Jesus used the same name (I AM) in the Gospel of John to describe Himself. He can’t be minimized to merely our “ticket to heaven” but must be seen as our daily access to the Father, our contentment, direction, protection, hope, peace, and purpose. We can be assured us that for everything we need, Jesus said, “I am.” And that’s more than enough.
Our study of “More Than Enough: How Jesus Meets Our Deepest Needs” by Jeff Iorg begins Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021. Study guides (20 copies) are available at the church office for $2.50. E-mail Min. Hyman at to reserve your copy and arrange pick-up.
