2021 Theme:

Still Kingdom Building

Greetings John Wesley Faith Community,

We are Resurrection People!!!  The Empty Tomb and the Good News reminds us of that. Easter is not over! We continue celebrating the joy of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and look for the fulness of the blessing announced in our Easter Hymn: “Love’s redeeming work is done.” We will celebrate for the next fifty days.  Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen Indeed!

A weekly prayer from the appointive Cabinet

God of power, love, and resurrection:
We rise today lighter than our world would dictate because of the light we have in you.
We rise today stronger because you’ve conquered death,
More humble because you have shown yourself merciful,
And more open because you’ve made a way for us to experience the newness of life.

We rise today grateful for the sacrifice of your son, knowing that none of us is worthy of a drop of his blood, sweat, or tears. Yet out of loving-kindness and obedience, he gave and paid it all.

So help us, God, in this Eastertide and always, to spread your light, to share your love, and to acknowledge the victory won at Calvary.

May the empty tomb fill us with joy and compassion.
May the startling and affirming news that your Word is alive and true continue to fill us with wonder, curiosity, and the courage to take the next faithful step.

When that step is painful, comfort us.
When we tiptoe rather than stand, stable us.
When we become comfortable with evil and injustice because it is commonplace, stretch us more into the uncommon likeness of Jesus Christ your son.

In whose name we pray and say, AMEN.

Sisters and Brothers please remain safe as this virus is still infecting people. If you are eligible to get the vaccine, please go ahead and get it. If you need help registering for the vaccine, or a ride to get it, please let us know. You are important to us. Don’t let your guard down! Wear a mask. Wash your hands often. Keep social distancing.

I Love You.  I Miss You.  I look forward to worshipping our resurrected Savior with you on Sunday.

See You on Sunday,
Pastor Carter-Rimbach

Bible Study:

“Like No Other”
Jesus Christ is central to the Christian faith. That statement may seem obvious, but even Christians need a constant reminder that everything in our faith is built upon the person and work of Jesus Christ. Every aspect of Jesus' life-from His birth to His current exalted state-is unique from any other person. His uniqueness means His life and character merit our fullest attention, and because He is uniquely God, His life and character greatly impact our lives.

Join us on Zoom starting Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.,  for this 8-week study by Dr. Tony Evans and know Jesus like no other who has ever lived.
