Safe Sanctuaries Training

What is Safe Sanctuaries?

Safe Sanctuaries is a policy John Wesley follows to reduce the risk of abuse or injury to children and youth while attending church activities. All of our Sunday School teachers, youth workers, and any other ministry that deals with youth are Safe Sanctuaries trained, so that we can provide the safest environment for our children and youth. Although we want to think child abuse could never happen in our church, the sad reality is that it could. While there is no guarantee that this policy can ensure the safety of children and youth, the accompanying procedures are designed to protect our children, youth, volunteers, and church as much as reasonably can be done in a volunteer environment. This training is required of any church member/volunteer that intends to work with children.
